It has a role as an antioxidant, an antineoplastic agent, a plant metabolite and a tropomyosin-related kinase B receptor agonist. It is a monomethoxyflavone, a trihydroxyflavone and a 3'-hydroxyflavonoid. It derives from a luteolin.
